THERMAL ENGINEERING

RE2020 & environmental commitment

The engineering firm plays a central role in the environmental strategy of your projects.

  • Carbon footprint: Impact analysis of materials and equipment (LCA).
  • Regulatory compliance: Bbio certificates and thermal performance calculations.
  • Renewable energy: Integration of solar solutions (PV/thermal) and heat recovery.

Asset audits & regulatory compliance

  • Equipment audits: Diagnosis of your existing control and BMS (Building Management System) installations.

Strategic support to enhance the value of your property assets and bring them up to standard.

Eligibility for and implementation of the BACS Decree

  • Technical recommendations: Definition of solutions to reach the required performance class (Class A or B).
  • Smart control: Automation of heating, ventilation and lighting to ensure a fast return on investment.

Meeting the objectives of the Tertiary Decree (Éco Énergie Tertiaire)

  • Performance audit: Complete review of actual energy consumption.
  • Reduction strategy: Drawing up works scenarios to achieve the targets of -40%, -50% or -60% by 2030, 2040 and 2050.
  • Monitoring and reporting: Technical assistance with data declaration on the OPERAT platform.

Renewable energy & decarbonisation

Producing locally to consume smartly and reduce the carbon footprint.

Photovoltaic engineering

  • Feasibility & yield study: Sunlight analysis, solar resource calculation and accurate simulation of annual production (kWh/year).
  • Self-consumption vs. resale: Optimised sizing to maximise self-consumption (individual or collective) and directly reduce your electricity bill.
  • Building & canopy integration: Technical design for flat roofs, industrial roof structures or car-park canopies (compliance with the APER Act).
  • Storage & control: Study of storage solutions (batteries) and coupling with the BMS to trigger uses (EV charging, domestic hot water) at peak production.

Other low-carbon thermal solutions

  • Solar thermal: Domestic hot water production with solar collectors for the residential and hospital sectors.
  • Geothermal & aerothermal energy: Use of ground or air heat through high-performance heat pumps.
  • Biomass: Design of wood-fired boiler rooms (pellets/chips) for heating networks and commercial buildings.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) & Carbon Performance

Measuring environmental impact to build the future.

LCA is the core of the “Carbon” part of RE2020. Our engineering firm quantifies the environmental impact of your project, from the extraction of raw materials to the deconstruction of the building.

Our LCA expertise

  • Calculation of the carbon index (Ic Construction): Detailed assessment of the carbon weight of each component (structure, insulation, HVAC/plumbing and electrical systems).
  • Optimising material choices: Decision support for choosing bio-based (wood, straw, hemp) or low-carbon materials (low-carbon concrete, recycled steel).
  • Use of FDES and PEP data: Rigorous analysis of Environmental and Health Product Declarations (FDES) and Product Environmental Profiles (PEP) to ensure compliant calculations.
  • Design alternatives: Comparative studies of different technical solutions to find the best balance between cost, technical performance and CO2 impact.
